2016 Fall Grand Prix Series

Run 4 races of varying distances & earn points for the Grand Prix Awards & bragging rights

A 10k race in August, a 5k in September, a Half Marathon in October and the grand finale is a 5k road race in November in Sanford. The Final Mile Grand Prix Race Series continues! All four (4) races are charitable events giving back to wonderful community groups and organizations we can all get behind.

$10 to join the Grand Prix entitles you to participate in the series, earning points for your results at each race and making you eligible for prizes at the Series Finale in November. Your entry also gets you the official Final Mile Grand Prix Tech Shirt. Tech shirts will be handed out at the first race of the series on August 29th. You can pay for 3 of 4 races at a bulk discount when you sign up. $70 gets you in the GPX and 3 of the 4 races. August 27, 2016 6:45am: Stone Island 10k for Pups-N-Pals (the 5k is NOT included in the series)

September 24, 2016 7:30am: Wild Cat 5k benefiting Taylor High School Cross Country and Girls Softball

October 30, 2016 7:00am: Lighthouse Loop Half Marathon (the 5k is NOT included in the series) benefiting the ten Volusia County High School Athletic Departments

November 5, 2016 7:30am: Peace Love Cure 5k benefiting the local American Diabetes Association

GRAND PRIX Benefits

Only $10 to register and be eligible for the awards and all the benefits below

  • Grand Prix Finisher’s Medal upon successful completion of all 4 races
  • 4 professionally chip-timed and professionally managed races
  • 3 of 4 the Grand Prix races include their own Finisher’s Medal
  • Raising money for community organizations

  • VIP Tent at each race includes gear check, coffee, pre and post-race treats and special amenities
  • Earn points for the Grand Prix awards to be given out at the 4th race in Sanford on November 14th
  • Drawings at each race for gift cards and prizes exclusively for Grand Prix runners
  • Unlimited beer at races where beer is offered to participants – be responsible
  • Grand Prix race bib with race number unchanging for 3 of 4 races
  • VIP Goody Bag given at 1st race in Stone Island on August 29th
  • Grand Prix standings posted on www.FinalMileRaceManagement.com immediately following each race

GRAND PRIX Rules

Awards are handed out to the Overall Winner for male and female, Overall Masters for male and female as well as 1st place in the following age groups:

  • 17 and under, 18-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+
  • Your age group is the age you are for the first race on August 27, 2016
  • In case of a tie, the runner with the BEST RESULT at the Wildcat 5k on September 24th will prevail

 

Points are earned according to standings at each of the 4 races in the Fall series

1st place overall = 100 points     1st place masters = 50 points

Age Group 1st = 25 points             Age Group 2nd = 10 points      Age Group 3rd = 5 points

No placement in race, but successful completion = 1 point (Includes Virtual Lighthouse Loop Half)
